Who is Sayward?

Sayward on Lyken Trail, Palm Springs, CA

Sayward has been the Director of http://www.JuiceFastForHealth.com, 6 day health vacation retreats held in Palm Springs, California, for the last 9 years.  Now she is taking time to explore countries she’s never been to, activities she’s never done before, all in the adventurous pursuit of fulfilling her Bucket List.  After solo hiking the Oregon section of the PCT in the summer of 2010, she traveled across country from West to East to begin a round-the-world back-packing trip, only to discover she’s not as young as she used to be. She decided to attempt her travel goals using a different strategy – one or two biggish trips per year – the ideal being one in the winter and one in the summer. In Spring 2011 she spent 6 weeks in Brazil, and in Winter 2012 she spent 6 weeks in Peru. In the future she hopes to see Argentina, Patagonia, Tierra del Fuego, Uruguay, Bolivia, Chile, Columbia and Guatemala. Then there is Europe, Asia, the South Pacific, and more of northeastern Canada. That is, of course, unless other unexpected revelations and directions occur.

You’re invited to ride along on this wild and crazy journey, via the wonders of WordPress.

You write woofily beautifully – I was captivated, and then could not help myself howl my head of, especially when I saw the photo of my old pal Brandon! Who I know has been in my neck of woods in Indian country, because I remember his, well, scent from the dog park, and I think he left his DNA on a couple of my favorite trees!

    Hugs & howls from Blue!
My dad’s asleep, ’cause I can feel all the sounds even though I can’t hear much anymore – I think it’s the vibration in the floor boards – Yes, it’s that loud! But at least I know he’s alive!! Just kidding my dad does not snore, just growls in his sleep!

Oh Miss Sayward, how you continue to touch my heart and inspire. I am living in New Hampshire and it is glorious! To camp fires, duets and giggles galore! Namaste!

Sayward is my hero… and I just now found this blog. I love that you trust your intuition and can say “no” to a ride. So many hikers jump at the first ride that comes. I tell hikers (as well as drivers) to say “no” if that’s what their gut tells them. I will definitely be following your adventures, and already added you to the list of travelers on Wayfaring Bloggers.

Sayward, I’m hoping you get this and just wanted to tell you how much of a joy it was meeting you. You, your smile and just the good feeling I got when I saw you was what made me pull over and pick you up! It was one of the best things I’ve ever done. I hope you are safe and well on your journey, I keep checking your blog to make sure and keep up on your progress. Write back if you get the chance and I would love to meet up with you again sometime if travel permits it. How long will you be in NH? Ok, I’m droning on now. I’ll shush and wait..

Just one of the “five guys” here saying it was nice meeting you on the PCT in July. We left you some things on the trail where we said we would. Hope you got them. Can’t wait to see what experiences you had on the PCT.

I am so happy to hear from you! Yes, I did receive your incredible gift, and not only did I take a picture of it, which will be on the post once I get it up, but I guzzled the water down – it was MOST welcome! You guys are the best! I totally enjoyed meeting all of you, and thank you so VERY much, from the bottom of my heart, for such a thoughtful, needed gift at the end of that section! My feet were destroyed so I came off the trail, caught a ride into Etna and on to Yreka, hitched a ride to Ashland, stayed overnight, then drove my truck back down to Etna for the Bluegrass Festival which I thoroughly enjoyed! Please stay in touch! Would love to hear how the rest of your hike went. Sayward

Awesome. Glad we could help. Sorry about your feet! Look forward to seeing your blog on the PCT. talk to you later.
